Executive Director

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Noah’s Ark of Central Florida, Inc., a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to facilitate the provision of housing and activities which support a meaningful life on behalf of its clientele, seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization in its next stage of development.

The Executive Director serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors which is elected from the general membership and rotates across three-year terms. The Executive Director supervises a staff of skilled employees with responsibilities for financial management, general operations, marketing and activities oversight, etc.

Responsibilities of the Executive Director include, but are not limited to, the following:

REVENUE GENERATION AND REPORTING
Maximization of recurring revenues, profitability and financial stability of both Noah’s Ark and Noah’s Landing, including oversight of (a)management activities to ensure high occupancy rates and expense controls, (b) transportation, food and other programs associated with the Life Enrichment funding, (c) a diversification program designed to expand the funding base required for campus and program expansion and (d) financial reporting systems for the members of the organization, the Board of Directors and the General Partners.

PROGRAM INITIATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Identification of ongoing, unmet community housing needs for adults with disabilities consistent with the organization’s mission, including (a) exploration of development prospects for the remaining acreage with an eye toward providing respite and assisted living dwellings as our residents age and (b) expansion of educational and recreational opportunities for current and future residents.

STAFF RECRUITMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
Recruitment, development and management of staff to ensure a quality experience for residents within current and future financial constraints including (a) development and adherence to comprehensive personnel policies and procedures and (b) direct supervision of senior staff with ultimate responsibility for all employees and volunteers.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
Enhancement of community (local, state, regional and national) awareness of the organization’s existence, purpose and goals through (a) development and enactment of a multi-year strategic plan designed to generate untapped constituencies and donors, (b) recruitment and development of a broad-based cadre of volunteers for activity leadership and publicity sharing purposes and (c) further development of existing systems designed to keep residents, parents and guardians knowledgeable of and supportive of the organization’s mission, facilities and services.

GOVERNMENTAL AND REGULATORY ADVOCACY
(a) Provision of advocacy leadership at appropriate local and state levels on matters pertaining to the interpretation of regulations and laws specific to the IDD population as they impact the organization’s mission, facilities and service delivery and (b) adherence to compliance with all federal, state and local laws pertaining to organizations engaged in real estate development and management.

Executive Director Skills:

  • Degree in business administration or related field and/or related experience
  • Previous experience in a senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans
  • Deep understanding of financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics
  • Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship development
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in management and governance
